The Law Offices of Randall M. Weiner, P.C. Files Injunction Request to Keep Rocky Flats Closed to Public

The Law Offices of Randall M. Weiner, P.C. filed for a preliminary injunction today that seeks to keep the Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge closed to the public until the U.S. District Court in Denver can rule on the underlying merits of the case.

Plaintiffs in the case include the Rocky Mountain Peace & Justice Center, Candelas Glows, Rocky Flats Right to Know, Rocky Flats Neighborhood Association and Environmental Information Network. The lawsuit seeks to block construction, scheduled to begin this summer, until the government completes an up-to-date, environmental analysis.  Plaintiffs contend that the US government failed to comply with the the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) in planning to build public trails and a visitor center at the former plutonium facility.
